Hymn of tribute

To her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the faith she sought to uphold
image of queen in carriage

Set to the tune St Clement (The day thou gavest Lord is ended)

A life of service, Lord, has ended
And now fulfilled - her duty’s days.
A monarch who our faith defended,
We mourn with hearts of thankful praise.

For through the troubles of our nation
A constant presence held us strong,
By taking as her life’s foundation
The God to whom all realms belong.

And as we mark an era’s waning,
The days and seasons still roll on;
Creation speaks of your remaining
When this world’s rulers’ works are done.

So be it, Lord! Your throne shall never,
Like earth’s proud empires, pass away;
Your kingdom stands and grows forever
Until there dawns your glorious day.
